I believe every photograph should feel like a memory. I have a fresh take on what I want the portrait experience to be like for your family. At some point I started to wonder what would happen if we took away the bribes and forced smiles. What would happen if we rebelled against the norm and removed the stress from family photos? It’s a lot of pressure when someone tells you to “act natural” in front of the camera! I simply ask that you come as you are and let me be your creative director. When we find a way to make the experience something to enjoy, we get honest expressions and real memories that last forever.

Studio sessions are simple and always delivered in black and white. I make things as easy as possible. I will give you direction and ask you to interact with each other, snuggling, hugging, laughing, playing. I will capture the wild and the quiet moments and everything in between. Sessions start at $350 and last about 45 minutes.

My take on the traditional studio portrait. You won't be asked to stand still and I won't force you to smile pretty.

You can keep things as real as you want at home. I will spend a few hours just hanging out, capturing whatever is going on and we can even capture some lightly posed shots too if you would like. These sessions are honest and relaxed and only require that you're there doing your thing.

Documenting families is my passion and the best place to do that is in the comfort of your own home.

where will my family photography session take place?

I am currently booking sessions in my beautiful private studio in downtown Mesa. The studio has bright natural light and a clean minimal feel. COMING SOON I will be offering in home sessions to families all over Arizona. Jump on the mailing list to stay up to date!

What do we wear for our studio session?

I strongly believe kids should be able to wear what they want to my individual portrait sessions. My ultimate goal is to create a comfortable atmosphere where they can let their guard down and just hang out with me while taking photos. It is so important that the get some control over what is happening and a great way to do this is to let them choose what they will wear. When you book your session I will send you info on my philosophy to help make this happen in the easiest way possible.

What is a Portrait experience session like?

I try to make things as comfortable as possible. When you arrive I will chat with you for a bit and we can talk about different shots we might take. I can show you some samples of what the end results will look like and I'll show you poses and direct you so that you don't feel awkward or silly. We will be chatting throughout the shoot and I love to have music playing during the session so please let me know if you have any special requests!
